What makes an entrepreneur?
Countless
institutes and people have posed the million-dollar question throughout the years.
What attributes or characteristics are essential in a successful entrepreneur, and are those traits inherited? There's good news! Every day, new successful entrepreneurs are born!
Some believe
that an entrepreneur is born, but others believe that an entrepreneur may be
taught. Some people feel that an entrepreneur is similar to an artist in that
you either have it or you don't. Some regard entrepreneurs as focused,
disciplined, competitive, and charismatic leaders, while others regard them as
big risk-takers. And, to some extent, all of these comparisons are correct.
True, all
successful entrepreneurs have certain characteristics and talents that enable
them to succeed. These innate attributes may be taught; however, they
frequently appear to be an inner driving force that pushes individuals along
the route of being in business or officially preparing for a profession in
business.

Entrepreneurs see the world differently.
They are
able to view the world as a whole. They have the ability to view anything in
its totality and as a cohesive unit, and they appear to be able to sense
opportunities within the larger picture. They are known as system thinkers.
Entrepreneurs are competitive with themselves and others
They also
have additional traits. Entrepreneurs have a strong desire to succeed and are
often incredibly competitive with themselves. They are always attempting to
outthink themselves and others, and they are always searching for an advantage.
This is a natural process that is the key driver behind the majority of
entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurs are determined
They are
determined and committed to completing through on commitments, and they always
look confident and in charge. You'll note that they have a pleasant vibe as
well. They believe in "I can" and "I will." They are not
terrified of failure since it is not a word in their dictionary or an option.
Entrepreneurs are objective
They are
objective, yet have the ability to analyze risks realistically in the context
of the whole picture. They have an extraordinary capacity to predict events,
which offers them an advantage in many competitive scenarios. Entrepreneurs
appear to have a gut feeling, or instinct. They are a resourceful bunch with
good problem-solving abilities and the ability to work hard through problems as
they arise.
Entrepreneurs are excellent communicators
Entrepreneurs
are outstanding communicators who understand the importance of simple and
straightforward communication in their success. They also have a solid working
understanding of the industry in which they operate.
The chicken or the egg …
When it
comes to smart entrepreneurs, it's a matter of whether the chicken or the egg
came first. Is it inherent attributes that we are born with that enable us to
be entrepreneurs, or do we gain the abilities and qualities of success when we
choose to become entrepreneurs? That is a question we will leave to the great
debaters.
The bottom line
The fact
that great businesspeople are created every day and that you may become one
yourself by mastering success-oriented skills is unquestionable.
